HMC inaugurates patient facilitation center, New OPD block and subspecialty wards

Peshawar: Patient Facilitation Center was inaugurated by Taimur Khan Jhagra, Minister Health and Finance at Medical Teaching Institute Hayatabad Medical Complex (MTI-HMC) Peshawar here on Friday. This center will provide facilities to the patients including Sehat Sahulat registration and admission process under one roof. The center is digitally connected through Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to facilitate Sehat Sahulat Card services at the hospital. Minister Health and Finance said that “Patients will now be more facilitated at this Center especially the one covered under Sehat Sahulat Program at HMC. The difference that everyone can see now in the hospitals is the result of health reforms”. He added that the provincial government is not only constructing the buildings but is keen to improve the entire health system. Medical Director MTI-HMC Prof. Dr. Shahzad Akbar said that this Patient facilitation center will make the admission process more efficient and systematic. Patients will be able to go through all the admission process under one roof as the center contains State Life Insurance counter, Bed Manager and Sehat Sahulat program staff of the hospital at one place to avoid unnecessary movement of the patient. He further added that as part of the hospital 's strategic direction new subspecialties are being added to its domain .The Health minister formally inaugurated Pulmonology and Neurology services in this regard.
Hospital Director MTI-HMC Dr. Shahzad Faisal said that revamping of the facility and addition of some new sub-specialties at the hospital will contribute in providing best healthcare services to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Later on the Health and Finance Minister also inaugurated recently installed equipment in the Radiology deptt including a 128 slice CT scan, mammogram, DEXA and Fluoroscopy machines. He also visited the new OPD block covering Gynae, paediatrics, Maxillofacial and dermatology specialties as well as the newly refurbished Psychiatry unit.
